The goal is to educate audiences about all things astronomical, from the ancient legends of the stars to current knowledge and future exploration of the stars. Can accommodate up to 55 visitors at a time. All shows are free and open to the public. Regular shows on Tuesday and Thursday at 4 pm and 7 pm, and Saturday morning at 10:30 am (kid-centered on Saturdays). Regular shows run throughout the regular semesters, but some summer shows will be posted on the planetarium website as they are confirmed. Parking is easy to find right next to the planetarium in the evenings and on the weekends. Check the planetarium webpage for a listing of the specific shows and showtimes. |

RU Museum of the Earth Sciences RU Museum of the Earth Sciences Radford University, Curie Hall, Room 143 Radford, VA 24141 Phone: 540-831-5257 Link: RU Museum of the Earth Sciences Site | The Museum of the Earth Sciences (MES) is open from October through November and from January through April while Radford University is in session. It is closed when Radford University is closed.
From May through August, visits may be scheduled by appointment. Contact the MES for details. Normal hours of operation during the MES open season are:

Sports Link: Radford University Highlanders Site | The Radford University Highlanders heat up courts and fields wherever they play and bring an exciting level of competition to the City. Many sporting events are held at the Dedmon Center, a state-of-the-art recreational and convocation complex, that is one of only a few permanent structures in the U.S. with an air-supported fabric roof. The complex features several adjoining facilities, including intermural soccer, football and softball fields and intercollegiate fields and courts for baseball, softball, field hockey and tennis. In addition Patrick D. Cupp Stadium adds an intercollegiate soccer and track and field complex.
Regardless of your sporting interest, catching a Highlander game or match while in Radford will certainly give you a chance to feel the University's spirit. |
