two days of activities to celebrate over 200+ types of birds found in Radford!
Friday, 17 February- 7 pm, Winged Migration, free admission, McHarg Elementary, 700 Twelfth St, Radford, VA 24141, snacks available, bring a chair or blanket for this family friendly event, forms available for the Great Backyard Bird Count
Saturday, 18 February-
9:00 a.m. bird walk with Radbird's premier bird expert, Clyde Kessler. Walk leaves from Sundell entrance of Wildwood Park, no admission charge
1:00-5:00-festival activities
McHarg Elementary, 700 Twelfth Street, Radford, VA 24141
Activities throughout the day include wildlife presenters, children's crafts, a photography exhibit and informational displays about birding
1:00-Virginia Wildlife Center presents 'A View from the Top' with some of Virginia's favorite birds of prey
2:00-Furr, Feathers and Scales, a raptor rehabilitation crew with some of their rescues
3:00-Carl Hansen, Ph.D., presents 'The State of Radford's Bluebirds:Findings from five years of bluebird trail management'
Great Backyard Bird Count forms will be accepted.
Snacks and drinks available.
